Adventurer stops in Buffalo on off-road canoe trip

Buffalo, New York (WKBW) — This week, as a unique traveler visits Lake Erie, adventure tours are becoming the way to get to Buffalo. This is Neil Moore’s journey from Oregon to New York City, crossing 22 states along the way.

“Explore the connections between rivers, people, and communities, and look for things that unite us as a nation,” Moore said. “Applause for the United States, our differences and common ground from the West Coast to the Statue of Liberty.”

It all started in February 2020, with the goal of listening to, documenting, and celebrating America. He embarked on a 22-month, 7,500-mile journey across the United States in 19 months and 7,000 miles.

Neal will stay in Buffalo for two days and will continue his journey on the Erie Canal.

Neal started this journey on February 9, 2020 in Astoria, Oregon, where the Columbia River meets the Pacific Ocean. Rowing eastward, he had to cross the Continental Divide like Lewis and Clark.
