“I like to play roles that are very similar to me,” Thornton told CNN in a recent interview. “I rolled out of bed almost every day and went out like a lawyer in Los Angeles.”
The Amazon Prime series about a frustrated lawyer and his search for redemption has entered the fourth and final season. McBride and his friends are accepting “big pharmaceutical companies”, and Thornton said it feels right.
“Billy is not that type, and I am not the kind of thinking that big companies tell us how we should live,” he said. “I’m really happy that it was the last season, because I think evolution is perfect.”
Nina Arianda, who plays McBride’s close friend and colleague Patty Solis-Papagian, told CNN that the ending of the show was “bittersweet.” She said she wanted the audience to “enjoy the ending.”
“I hope we bring a real sense of justice, especially the topic we are dealing with this season, which is the opioid crisis in the United States,” she said. “You want to hug with someone who has been with you for four seasons.”
Tania Raymonde, who plays the role of sex worker and McBride’s assistant Brittany Gold, said: “We have been living in these messy, dysfunctional In human skin… it’s like a sad farewell.”
“Of course, I am very proud of this performance,” Raymond said. “And I think last season was very good, if it must end, this is a good way to end it.”
Thornton is also proud of the work done by the actors and is satisfied with the audience’s acceptance of the show.
If it seems easy, there is a reason.
“It’s really nice to be able to play someone you really understand,” Thornton said.
