Gulfport, Mississippi (WLOX)-Domino’s Pizza launched its first electric car in Gulfport on Wednesday.
RPM is made up of 176 stores in five states, and franchisee Glenn Mueller says his delivery drivers travel hundreds of miles from each store every day.
They are now working with the Mississippi Electric Company to make their fleet environmentally more efficient and safer.
“As Domino’s Pizza grows, we want to continue to innovate,” Mueller said. “So we think this is another innovation, and we are fortunate to have the Mississippi Electric Company to help us. We are excited about this.”
Mississippi Power assisted in installing the charging station.
Domino executives said they hope to learn everything from the power company through the test model before adding more models to the fleet.
Anthony Wilson, Chief Executive Officer of the Mississippi State Electric Company, said: “We have seen that in the past two years, the number of electric cars registered in Mississippi has doubled.” “So I think this trend will continue. Now almost All major manufacturers are switching from fossil fuels to electric vehicle design. So I think this is the trend of the future.”
