Former Las Vegas Raiders coach Jon Gruden resigned last month after being exposed to racist, homophobic, and misogynistic remarks. He is suing the NFL and Commissioner Roger Gu Del.
The lawsuit filed in the Clark County District Court in Nevada on Thursday stated: “Through a malicious and well-planned campaign, the NFL and Commissioner Roger Goodell tried to sabotage the former head coach of the Las Vegas Raiders, Jon Grew. Deng’s career and reputation.”
The lawsuit also accused Gruden of being “forced” to resign.
NFL spokesperson Brian McCarthy called Gruden’s allegations “baseless” on Friday and said that they “will vigorously defend these allegations.”
Before Gruden took legal action, there were reports that his email included past racist remarks about NFL Players Union Chairman De Morris Smith, as well as sexism and homophobic language.
