Audra Quinn is a friend of 10-year-old Luna Perrone, and she said she is happy to come out and support her because she has experienced a lot.
Luna has been fighting Ewing’s sarcoma, a rare type of bone cancer, all year long.
This afternoon, her family and friends gathered at the Regional Park football field in Palm Beach Gardens, which surprised her.
In addition to dozens of her friends, the Palm Beach Gardens Fire Station also showed up to show support.
“First I saw the fire truck, I thought someone was injured.” Luna said, “Then, when I saw my friend holding a balloon and a sign, I was very excited because I was here instead of a hospital.”
Luna’s parents Hailey and Chris Perrone also took a little time to support Luna, and they knew Luna had a long way to go.
“She will have an MRI, CT scan, and PET scan to check if her body no longer has cancer. If it is, then we can put our head on the pillow for 3 months until the next scan,” Hailey and Ke Risperone said. “We will do it for a while to see if there is any progress. If she can survive the first three years, then we can be optimistic. If not, it will be tricky.”
People in South Florida and all over the country are working hard for this brave little girl. Tiger Woods gave her some words of encouragement after a chance meeting in May The same goes for other superstars like “The Rock”.
Luna shared with her 183,000 Instagram followers the good and bad of her cancer journey, while raising awareness of childhood cancer in the process
Today is definitely a good day.
“It’s a lot of support, and I like it. It’s friendly and good, and I like that they are here to serve me,” Luna said.
