Miami Beach, Florida. (WSVN)-Police arrested a man accused of stabbing another man with a nail in a cafe in South Beach.
On Monday afternoon, a tourist from Argentina was having lunch near the Chatham Hotel on James Avenue when a man randomly attacked him.
According to the police, the attacker had a nail between the knuckles and hit the victim with it.
“He tried to pierce me with a nail,” the victim said.
Only a few blocks from the crime, the Miami Beach police arrived.
When being hunted, the man in the red shirt turned around and found one police officer holding a gun, and another police officer wearing handcuffs on his tail, at the feet of the frightened outdoor diners at Paul’s Bakery.
Before the attack, the victim said he was dealing with his own affairs.
“I think, have an ordinary lunch,” the victim said. “Suddenly, I was punched in the back of the head. I was shocked.”
Witnesses at the hotel took this creepy photo of a man with a stabbed object in the fist behind it.
He was accused of punching and kicking tourists in the neck and head before escaping.
“He ran towards Lincoln Road,” the victim said.
The attacked man got some help from strangers in the dormitory who witnessed the battery attack.
“They decided to help immediately,” the victim said.
“He ran to Washington Street,” said the kind Samaritan Diego Vesga.
Wisca said that he and another person followed the nailing machine while talking on the phone with the 911 dispatcher.
“My friend is talking with the police here,” Visgar said.
The attacker ran to Lincoln Road near Drexel Avenue. This is also where the police compete.
“The police are here,” the victim said.
“Thirty seconds later, the police went in and shut down the man in the street,” Visgar said.
Just before being taken off the shelf, the victim and the well-wishers said that the assailant had a bottle of vodka.
“Threaten us with that, so we keep our distance,” the victim said.
The assailant Jason Dyer Mitchell was arrested and charged with severe assault and other crimes with lethal weapons.
Miami Beach police said they confiscated vodka bottles and drugs. The attackers had ecstasy and marijuana.
He was also charged with several drug offences and battery crimes.
He is still being held in the Miami-Dade County Jail.
