Madison said that the police hunted down an SUV and the hunt ended in South Los Angeles, resulting in the arrest of three people in connection with the burglary.
The theft at The Grove is the latest in a series of similar crimes.
Approximately 80 suspects were involved in what the police called a “smashing and looting” incident at Nordstrom’s Walnut Creek near San Francisco on Saturday night.
Lieutenant Ryan Hibbs of the Walnut Creek Police Department told CNN that people had fled the store in at least 10 different vehicles. Three suspects were arrested.
“There is a group of people,” Brett Barrett said. “The police flew in. It’s like a scene in a movie. It’s crazy….It was a terrible scene in a moment.”
Hibbs said the police have not yet estimated the amount of the stolen items.
On Friday night, a series of similar thefts occurred in San Francisco’s Union Square and surrounding areas, including Louis Vuitton stores, Burberry stores, jewelry stores, Bloomingdales, Walgreens, cannabis dispensaries, and even It’s an optical shop in San Francisco. Francisco Police Chief Bill Scott said at a press conference on Saturday.

The police told the WLS that the men rushed into the store in the Oak Creek Center Mall, took out the garbage bags and started filling them. Store surveillance video obtained by WLS showed that masked pickpockets flooded into the store to snatch handbags and other goods, while shoppers walked away in a chaotic scene.
According to police chief James Kruger, investigators have information about the three vehicles driven away by the thief. Oak Creek is about 25 miles west of Chicago.
On November 1, at least 13 men wearing masks and gloves entered the same Louis Vuitton store and stole several items worth $100,000. Northbrook is about 30 miles from Oak Creek.
“We don’t yet know whether there is an actual connection, but there must be similarities,” Kruger said.
