
Prairie official Andy MacDonald died of COVID complications
The Grand Prairie Police Department said that officer Andy MacDonald passed away on Monday morning.
Grand Prairie, Texas-Police said a Grand Prairie police officer died of complications from COVID-19 on Monday morning.
The Prairie Police Department said on Twitter that Officer Andy MacDonald has been working in the department since 1999.

With a heavy heart, we inform you of the depravity of a GPPD official.
Due to complications of COVID-19, Officer Andy MacDonald passed away this morning.
Since 1999, Andy has faithfully served our Prairie community.

More details of MacDonald’s career and life were not immediately released.
MacDonald is the latest in the recent COVID-19 deaths among emergency rescuers and law enforcement personnel in North Texas.
On Sunday, the Denton Police Department announced that 52-year-old detective Rodney Mooneyham had died after a “hard battle” with COVID-19. He joined Denton Police in November 2010 and became a detective in July 2017.
“Rodney is always smiling. He is always willing to listen and check his friends and colleagues regularly,” Denton police said. “… Rodney is the kind of person that people like to be around. Everyone will miss him very much.”
In September, Senior Corporal Arnulfo Pargas became the second police officer in the Dallas Police Department to die of COVID-19.
The Tarrant County Sheriff’s Office announced on September 18 that William “Howard” Gudgell, who was a long-time COVID-19 deputy, had died.
The day before that, on September 17, the Plano Police Department stated that a 29-year-old veteran, Lieutenant Ernest Oldham, died of complications from the virus.
Officials in Denton County said that Roland Asebedo, who served as the county’s fire chief and director of development and emergency services, died on September 13 from complications of COVID-19.
Dallas firefighter David Leos died on September 2, marking the first coronavirus-related death in the Dallas Fire Rescue Team. He has been hospitalized since July 17.
