Rush put a sign outside her house last year, introducing this puppy who likes to stay outside.

“She likes it. She usually sits next to the sign. Just wait for her fan club,” Rush said.

A fan club that includes regulars, such as neighbor Alison Pirie, who said she visits Sparkle “about once a day.” I walked back and forth. “

They will even receive fan mail, and Rush showed some letters to WBZ-TV.

“This is a note left a few days ago that says,’We love you sparkling. The best girl,'” Rush said.

As Boston photographer Eric Magnussen’s recent social media posts went viral online, this is a growing fan club:

In the post, the update of the logo explained that Sparkle’s upper jaw has cancer and it cannot be cured.

“I just want the neighbors to know what happened because it will be a huge loss for Somerville and this community,” Rush said.

Neighbor Joe Szafarowicz made a special trip to visit. He said: “I heard the news that Sparkle was diagnosed with cancer on the Internet. After crying with my partner, I just wanted to say hello. This feels right.”

Encourage Sparkle’s old and new friends to continue to express their love for her, but remind them to wash their hands beforehand, be gentle when touching her, and avoid touching her face.

“I hope she can stay healthy enough for a period of time to continue to be outdoors. I hope she can get all the love in the world, as our veterinarian said, people spoil her,” Rush said.

No matter how much time Sparkle is away, it is clear that it will be spent in more than ten years, neighbor Catherine Lane Harris said, “This is how she spends the rest of her life, dedicate love to the world and let it come back. It’s so beautiful.”
