Madison, Wisconsin — Madison police are investigating after stealing a unique piece of art from a vendor at the Plaza Art Fair last weekend.
The police said that the supplier marked the police on Saturday. She wants to report that a bronze statue of Humpty Dumpty worth $1,400 has been stolen. She is sitting on a toilet that she calls “Dumpty Humpty”.
The supplier who went to the exhibition from outside the state reported that she saw two men hovering near her booth when she was setting up a stall early on Saturday morning. When she left the stands, the men were gone—the statue was gone.
The police found surveillance video of the man leaving the area of the square with the statue. They are now seeking public help to determine the identity of the two men. It is believed that at least one suspect was a student living in the city center who had recently turned 21.
