Louisville, Kentucky (WAVE) – On Tuesday a year ago, the first Kentucky people were vaccinated against COVID-19. Since then, hundreds of millions of vaccines have traveled through Louisville to fight the virus around the world.
UPS Healthcare recently delivered its one billionth dose of COVID-19 vaccine.
As the global coronavirus pandemic spreads, the current mission of UPS Healthcare is also spreading. They shifted their attention from the logistics of cancer treatments and similar drugs to the logistics of a wide range of COVID vaccine supplies.
All this happened in a facility that did not exist a year and a half ago. UPS Healthcare President Wes Wheeler (Wes Wheeler) said that in addition to 700 new jobs, they will soon be able to focus on what they have planned to do.
“When a pandemic occurs, we can say that we will prove to the world that UPS Healthcare can handle vaccines,” Wheeler said. “Vaccines happen to be temperature-controlled, bio-derived, and sterile. So now, with our Ability, we can do all of this.”
