Woman, son arrested in Wyoming on suspicion of killing half-brother
After officials said they killed a 47-year-old woman and her 26-year-old son in Blanchard, the authorities arrested her half-brother in Wyoming. On October 15th, the wife of Michael “Andy” McGuffee was contacted for not going to work. She sent a family member to a home in the 8300 block of Gavin Avenue to check on him, and the press release stated that they saw signs of a fire. Family members called the Blanchard Fire Department, and the staff found McGuffey was dead. The press release stated that the Blanchard Police Department asked OSBI to assist in the investigation. OSBI agents determined that McGuffee was the victim of a homicide. Agents discovered that the fire had started, and many items including McGuffey’s pickup truck were stolen from their homes. Earlier this week, agents learned in Salina, Kansas, that someone had pawned items belonging to McGuffey. According to the press release, a few days later, agents found McGuffey’s pickup truck at a car wash in Oklahoma City. OSBI officials said the investigation brought the agents to Wyoming, where they and members of the Wyoming Criminal Investigation Bureau found the two suspects. The Wyoming Highway Patrol stopped a moving truck driven by the suspect and the authorities detained them. The two were arrested on suspicion of first-degree murder and arson. As of Friday afternoon, they were held in Wyoming, awaiting extradition to Oklahoma. OSBI officials said that the woman arrested in McGuffey’s murder was his half-sister. Since no formal charges have been filed, KOCO 5 currently chooses not to publish the names of the suspects.
